The nimax CF118 inspection system checks the integrity of aluminium films or of certain types of PVC by detecting the presence of micro-holes, tears or cracks already present in the film or produced during drawing. Composition of the unit
The unit is made up of two completely separate parts:

Illuminator
Normally mounted above the film running surface. It generates a line of high-intensity infrared light, concentrated and focused on the film by a cylindrical lens. The two lateral support blocks position it at the optimum distance. It is powered independently and has an output signal (relay) to raise an alarm in the event of faults in the light circuit.

Receiver
Normally mounted below the film running surface. It consists of a line of photosensors, placed along the reading axis, as long as the width of the film to be inspected. When it is struck by a pulse of light from the illuminator, positioned on the
upper side of the film, the electronic circuit generates an error signal corresponding to a hole or a crack. The receiver must be perfectly aligned with the illuminator and completely shielded from external light. In the case of drawn films, the format manufacturer must provide a guide support fitting the underside of the film as closely as possible.
